The Telecentre-Europe Summit 2011 will take place in Brussels, Belgium during 27-28 October 2011, and will gather an invited audience of about 100 telecentre network leaders and guests from all over Europe
The event will be organized under the patronage of Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for the Digital Agenda, and is co-hosted by our Belgian network member Interface3.
Under the title Telecentres: get to work! the event will explore how telecentres improve employment and bring economic growth to their communities. The yearly summit is well known as an important opportunity for digital inclusion organizations across Europe to explore together new services and products, and will include a series of interactive sessions and presentations on the sustainability of telecentres, their role in facilitating proper digital skills for young people, telecentre digital content creation and more. The Telecentre-Europe Summit will also host the official launch of the Employment Toolkit, a packed collection of resources especially designed for telecentre use through the project Key Competences for All. Finally, Telecentre-Europe will recognize some of the best telecentre practices and efforts during the Telecentre-Europe Awards 2011.
This is the fourth annual gathering of European telecentre leaders after Riga (2008), Istanbul (2009), and Budapest (2010). Following the event, the Telecentre-Europe AISBL General Assembly will be held.
