Welcome to the Education, Training and Certification working group of UniteIT!

In the digital age it is crucial to change and adjust formal education curricula. But it is even more important to raise awareness about non-formal, vocational training and certification in ICT for people to learn new e-Skills and stay active in the digital job market.

Summary of topics

This group will be working around the following 3 topics, through direct discussions, webinars and joint project work.

Topic 1: Alignment with Education and Training 2020 strategic framework

  • Identify common reference tools and approaches in education and training among UNITE-IT network members
  • Facilitate peer learning and the exchange of good practice, including the dissemination of outcomes
  • Collect evidence and data from all relevant European agencies, European networks, and national organisations
  • Make full use of the opportunities available under EU programmes, particularly in the field of lifelong learning and the new Erasmus+ Programme

Topic 2: Training and matching for digital jobs – broadening training opportunities for youth: from digital empowerment to IT careers

  • Development of training programmes that meet employers skills needs and provision of effective placement services to help people into jobs (ICT practitioners, career changers, midcareer workers from adjacent work areas)
  • Models of collaboration with industry (specific training packages designed or codesigned with IT industry)
  • Basic digital training courses – targeting the offliner

Topic 3: Certification

  • The European e-Competence Framework and mapping of current certification programmes implemented by UNITE-IT members to the EeCF Industry certifications (global, European); Country specific certifications
