Global Citizenship Education

Global Citizenship Education

The aim of this working group is to create the first European Community on Global Citizenship Education by involving all actors interested in the topic, including: teachers, trainers and youth workers working in formal, non-formal and informal settings (schools, telecentres, youth centres, NGOs etc.); representatives of NGOs, non-profit organisation and civil society; education and training actors; policy makers and all others.

This is the group for those willing to support and advocate for the potential adoption of GCE as an inclusive educational methodology in different contexts and at different levels through the use of digital tools.

The objectives of this group are:

  • Identify the current state of implementation of GCE through the use of digital tools in formal, non-formal and informal learning contexts in Europe.
  • Share best practices, strategies, promising initiatives and policies addressing GCE at local, regional, national and European level.
  • Present and share results and case studies of the BRIGHTS project currently implemented in 4 European Countries: Belgium, Croatia, Greece and Italy.
  • Propose joint activities: identify partnerships and opportunities for collaborative initiatives that could impact on GCE

The group is created within the context of the BRIGHTS “Boosting Global Citizenship Education using digital storytelling” project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
