The CARER+ project organises its main conference in Paris, France on 27 March 2015 where the main topic will be related to digital competence development in the field of care and social care. The Conference will be the meeting place of active policy-makers, researchers of digital competence development and practitioners of social care systems.
Members of the Unite IT network are invited to submit short videos related to carers and ageing, social inclusion of the elderly and their carers through ICT. Three best videos will be selected and for one representative from each of the winning organisations costs of conference attendance in Paris will be covered.

About Unite IT
Unite IT is an informal NETWORK of digital inclusion professionals (teachers and trainers, experts, practitioners, business, policy makers, academics) aiming at uniting Europe through digital empowerment. Unite IT creates a collaborative space for its members to engage in an open dialogue, share experience and resources, build contacts among each other and create partnerships.

Procedure
Videos should be posted on the Unite IT platform within Working group “Vulnerable Groups at Risk of Exclusion” by the 23rd of January 2015. A video should be between 2 and 10 min long. Please read more about the technical requirements for the videos here. A video that is not originally in English should contain English subtitles.

The jury will select and announce three best videos by the 30th of January 2015. Travel costs up to €300 as well as accommodation for one hotel night in Paris for one person from each of the three winner organisations will be covered.

The library gets closer to its user: challenges and opportunities
The main idea of the video is to motivate public libraries to provide the door-to-door ICT training to socially marginalized groups, to gain awareness of including the door-to-door ICT training in the library services offer, to promote training programs developed by the 3td project, to encourage libraries to develop their own training programs tailored to the specific needs of target groups or individuals, to promote e-services available on the Internet, to enhance e-inclusion of socially marginalized groups and to demonstrate public library’s role in reducing digital gap.
