What does your organization do (100-word description)

Activation Foundation (Polish: Fundacja Aktywizacja) was established in 1990. Our aim is boosting of employment and social activation of disabled persons. Organization was appointed by representatives of Polish Academy of Sciences: The Institute of Computer Science and the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Polish Information Processing Society. The Foundation’s mission is to provide the disabled people with independence and enhance the quality of their lives through integrated activation-targeted activities, change of the society’s attitude and use of information and communication technologies. We follow the principles of: engagement, innovativeness, experience, professionalism and openness.

What digital skills training or activities do you or does your organization offer (if any)?

We provide ICT corese for our beneficiaries in e-Centers and in 8 officies all over the Poland. Foundation have also e-learning platform with many ICT corces. www.aktywizacja.edu.pl

Foundation is a part of TeleCentre Europe network.

Why would yo like to join the network?

Foundation created and purchased with computer equipment over 400 e-Centres in rural and (mixed) urban/rural districts throughout Poland. We perform numerous activation measures on areas of small towns and villages in the entire country. Its internet platform, which features educational materials in the form of e- learning, is an important component available to persons with different kinds of disability. The trainings are also available to employers, who hire or plan to hire employees with disabilities.
I think we have a lot of expirience to shre with the network.
