What does your organization do (100-word description)
Foundation for Research and Innovation – F.R.I. aims at higher education and technology transfer with a particular attention devoted to funding opportunities for innovation and a spotlight on entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. Established in 2007, it is currently promoted by the University of Florence, Città Metropolitana di Firenze, Fondazione CR Firenze. Player for social and economic development in the territory, F.R.I. represents a quadruple helix catalyst: its Quadruple Helix approach to innovation is the real key to accelerate the transfer of research and innovation results to regional growth, thus contributing to the diffusion of a culture of innovation.
What digital skills training or activities do you or does your organization offer (if any)?
F.R.I. is involved in many European projects dealing with innovation and digitization. Mainly, it is partner of the following projects: “CD-ETA – Collaborative Digitization of Natural and Cultural Heritage”, a five-year Interreg Project aiming to improve the adoption of digitization policies for natural and cultural heritage; "HERIT-DATA" aiming to reduce the impact of tourism activities on cultural heritage by taking advantage of technology and data exploitation.
How are you involved in digital inclusion / empowerment?
Since 2010, I have been working in F.R.I. in the field of management and coordination of technology transfer and higher education projects
How did you learn about this community?
I got an invitation from a network member
Why would yo like to join the network?
The digital age is expanding into all areas of our lives, and it is not just those who work in IT that will need to be alert of this change. By joining the network, I will benefit from a better understanding of digital transformation and education trends and apply new knowledges in project activities.
