What does your organization do (100-word description)
Langas į ateitį is a Knowledge Society development initiative, launched by private companies and focused on the promotion of Internet in Lithuania. Lithuanian business companies such as leading banks, telecommunication and IT companies, came together and in 2002 formed alliance “Langas į ateitį” (Window to Future ) aimed at business supporting the development of the information society in Lithuania. Today Langas į ateitį associates 13 private companies, two Ministries of the Republic of Lithuania. The initiative is gaining strong momentum because of effective cooperation with local and central government as well as local communities. Results of today - over 80 000 people has been involved in Langas i ateiti ICT trainings.

Towards Information Security of Lithuanian Citizens

Last week “Langas į ateitį“ accomplished the implementation of the project Towards Information Security of Lithuanian Citizens. 3 months long project was supported by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania. Piloting stage of the Trans e-Scouts project has been accomplished in the Central Library of Vilnius City Municipality Žirmūnai branch. To get Lithuanians’ attraction to the importance of E-skills and Internet, we have developed Communication plan which was created in close collaboration with our GOW 2011 partners association INFOBALT and Microsoft Lietuva.
