EU RegioStar Award 2010 goes to a Telecentre-Europe Member

The winners of the “RegioStars” 2010 were announced on 20 May in Brussels during the annual “Regions for Economic Change” conference.

Awards were given to the most innovative regional projects which had received funding from the EU’s cohesion policy. 1st day - WCIT2010

The World Congress on Information Technology started today in Amsterdam, at the RAI convention center.

It was an exciting and crowded day at the Telecentre-Europe booth, where we (Mara, Gabi and myself) discussed with a lot of people about what we are doing, about the importance of telecentres in the knowledge society, and about future potential partnerships.

European Parliament calls for rapid implementation of digital agenda

In plenary session on Tuesday 5 May, the European Parliament adopted, by a large majority, the resolution by Pilar del Castillo Vera (EPP, Spain) on Europe's digital future. According to the resolution, every European citizen should have access to broadband internet at competitive prices by 2013 and be trained in the skills needed to be able to participate fully in the new digital society. Promising scholars receive award to research the impact of public access to ICT
