On February 6, more than 140 countries around the world celebrated Safer Internet Day (SID). Lithuania was no exception. With the slogan “Create, connect and share respect: a better internet starts with you” Lithuanian Safer Internet Centre (part of which is association “Langas į ateitį”) with bunch of partner organizations focused on respectful behavior and critical thinking while creating and sharing information online.

The outcomes of one of the activities of Safer Internet Day 2017 in Lithuania are still visible in schools – 100 decorated library doors are inviting to be safer online whole year round. It is the result of a competition for schools „Decorate the library door“, implemented together with Microsoft Lithuania: 100 school libraries participated in the competition, 4,000 pupils and other members of school community involved.

How to run an interactive online safety event workshop was conducted at TEAC16 on October 7, 2016 in beautiful Ghent.
