150 astounding young people from around Europe were gathered in Brussels on May 2-3 by Innovate4Good, an event organized by Microsoft that reminded me very much of Riga, 2008– where Telecentre-Europe sparked, following an enthusiastic reunion of telecentre leaders.
An impressive 165 ideas tackling some of the most threatening issues of today’s society have been generated throughout the event that inspired 15 initiatives developed and presented in the second day.
It has been a very energetic experience, and I had a really great time talking with the participants about Telecentre-Europe, Skillageand how the work we do impacts young people, but also to get feedback and learn about other initiatives out there.
The Innovate4Good@Microsoft forum is one way that Microsoft is working to inspire youth to imagine the opportunities ahead by fostering in-person and online communities where they can share ideas, resources, and connections for career advancement. The forum is part of a series of conversations Microsoft is having with youth around the world. One of the outcomes is the online collaborative environment where young people from around the world imagine and realize their dreams. Whether they aspire to reach higher levels of education, start or grow their careers, become entrepreneurs or generate social good, the community created through this worldwide effort - provides ideas, interactions, a space to innovate and practical tools to equip young people for success.
