PURPOSE AND MAIN ACTIVITIES

The European project “Digital Skills for You(th)” aims at developing and piloting a blended learning offer for professionals working with disadvantaged young people. The offer focuses on a strength-oriented approach for their young target group concerning digital opportunities and challenges regarding their personal and professional development and active participation in society.

Please read the current Report on the framework conditions for training offers in digital youth work (only in English) :

The project is coordinated by the German Digital Opportunities Foundation with partners from the Czech Republic (NCBI) and Spain (Fundación ESPLAI). The duration of the project is from January 2017 till December 2018.

IMPACT

The project aims at empowering young people to make use of the opportunities provided by digital media in a way which is beneficial for themselves. This will be achieved by providing training (blended learning) and awareness raising for professionals working with young people regarding the key competence of digital literacy. The professionals will be enabled to be aware of and to understand the media usage behaviour of their target group and the benefits young people can reap from it.

SUSTAINABILITY

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission It is easily transferable because it incorporates the creation of guidelines for the implementation of the blended learning training and its integration in a formal and non-formal educational structures. Also the study phase is easily replicable by other countries and helps them in the investigation of the main training needs of their youth workers.

SUCCESS FACTORS AND LEARNING

The budget has been drafted in order to achieve the results in the most efficient way by ensuring high-quality results and is based on the expected activity levels of each partner per output. Budget Control, defined as a target-actual comparison, is important to detect any deviations, to analyse the deviation causes and to install corrective measures such as budget transfer in consultation with the National Agency. To provide a solid foundation for an efficient and timely implementation of the project activities, a consortium agreement was signed by the three partner organisations. It included statements regarding the tasks and responsibilities of each partner in the project, the liability of the partners, the governance structure and the circumstances of the financial provisions was one of the most important things in this project. But we also create something different, we created a high performance team working together with the three countries.
