"Digital Challenges and Opportunities for Young People”

This is the title of the workshop  run on June 20 by association “Langas į ateitį” where 35 employees of youth employment centers  participated.

At the beginning of the event, “Langas į ateitį” director Loreta Križinauskienė introduced the newly started project "Youth Work HD", which is a strategic partnership among four European organizations, ALL DIGITAL members: Centre of Technical Culture Rijeka (Croatia), association „Langas į ateitį“ (Lithuania), Latvijas informācijas un komunikācijas tehnologijas association (Latvia) and European Grants International Academy (Italy). The project aims at strengthening and sharing youth workers skills in the countries involved in project using ICT for solving the pressing social problem – youth unemployment. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.                                                  

“Langas į ateitį” took the advantage of the cooperation and support from Barclays technology centre in Lithuania  to introduce the newly developed training tool - an online course for young people "Digital Art - Photography, Video, Web Sites" which is supposed to motivate young people to learn more about digital photography and video, basics for web design. The course is open to Youth employment center employees first and after the pilot will be open for free to Youth Employment centers participants.

One more important topic tackled by Atea Baltic IT Auditor Algirdas Šakys was information safety. An hour lecture included information on the dark side of the internet, hackers’ attacks, unreliable sites, rules of safe use of Wi-Fi.

In the second part of this workshop, public relations and psychology expert Romualda Stonkute invited participants to the practical training "What to do when you are not heard?". During this practical workshop, participants gained knowledge and experience in testing the most different listening and communication techniques.
