On May 28, at the Continental Hotel, Open the Windows held a round table on Educational Software for Inclusive education.
The round table gathered representatives of the Austrian organizations Life Tool and Diakonie, the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, USAID Macedonia, educational institutions, civic organizations, schools and individuals with disabilities. The participants discussed the importance of educational software and presented experiences from Macedonia and Austria.
At the event, Open the Windows presented the localized educational applications of the Austrian organization Life Tool in Macedonian and Albanian. The two games provide wide opportunities for use in the instruction and in particular in the work with students with special educational needs, helping them to comprehend and adopt basic mathematical skills and improve their vocabulary.
Open the Windows will provide 250 copies of both games to the schools in the country.
The round table was part of the project Translation and Adaptation of Educational Software for Persons with Disabilities in Macedonia, implemented by Open the Windows and and Life Tool and funded by Diakonie Austria and the ERSTE Foundation from Vienna.
At the invitation of Open the Windows, two representatives of Life Tool held a workshop on educational software development and shared their own experience in this field for the staff of Open the Windows.
