The e-Skills Week is a campaign that aims to raise awareness of the growing demand of highly
skilled ICT practitioners and users within the industry. It is organised by DIGITALEUROPE and
European Schoolnet together with 20 national partners with the objective to promote e-skills whilst
building bridges between the different stakeholders. The campaign will culminate into the European e-
Skills Week taking place in the first week of March 2010. The closing event, planned for 5 March
2010 will host, amongst others, an award ceremony of a pan European e-Skills competition where
final winners will be announced and receive their prizes.

It is an opportunity to highlight the activities that exist for rewarding young people and educators that have a proven involvement in ICT and a high level of digital skills and literacy. The competition will give focus to existing actions, but will also reach out to motivated and talented youths between 14 and 21 and educators through ad hoc competitions around four pre-defined award categories and selection
