The piloting phase of the iProfessional competence framework for media professionals has been ongoing by all the project partners, including Telecentar who has decided to carry it out in an innovative and different way. The piloting has been implemented during the First summer school for e-Facilitators which was organized by Telecentar in Centar M.A.R.E., Rovinj (Croatia) in June this year.
During the Summer School three different but connected programs took place: the iProfessional piloting program for e-Facilitators, program for project coordinators and a special multimedia program for children - TMA Kids. 27 participants have come all the way from Belgium, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Croatia. The iPro piloting program has been focused on media literacy in the field of mobile photography and audio-visual production, digital storytelling and project management. Divided into smaller groups, they produced a short film clip by using mobile technology (smartphones / tablets), including: Collaboration, Photography, Photo editing, Video recording, Video editing, Audio recording, Audio editing, Publishing, Promotion, Project management, which you can see here.
By project based learning, the participants had an opportunity to master theoretical knowledge as well as practical work, gain valuable experience in different types of media as well as project planning and implementation. Upon completion, participants understood the rationale behind the iProfessional project, and the purpose of the task - collaborative video production. They learned how to use the Moodle platform for the training and the implementation of the task and also how to utilize Erasmus+ to their advantage.
The coordinators had the opportunity to present their organizations/programs/projects and get to know each other. This year the focus was set on media literacy, coding for kids and social innovation. It was a very productive setting for ideas to be exchanged and new project to be developed in a relaxed environment which is suitable for creative thinking.
Kids, aged 8 to 13, have participated in a special variant of the successful TMA program, called TMA Kids, which was adapted to their age and also based on the project based learning model.
