Get Online Week launched in Romania

Fundația EOS organized a dedicated Get Online Week campaign launch in Timișoara on March 10, 2016. Besides the presentation of the specific GOW16 activities which will take place this year, EOS staff organized two special event. The first event was a workshop which presented an introductory course of Training the e-Trainers dedicated to telecentre trainers, library coordinators or teachers. The second event, which was very meaningful was the organization of the Web Accessibility Awards Gala, where EOS with other partners celebrated the accessibility efforts made by public institutions to make their public information accessible to all citizens, including the blind.

Over 50 participants enjoyed a day full of good and insightful presentations about the state of digital inclusion in Romania. Unfortunately Romania is ranked amongst the lowest performing countries by the latest DESI 2016. It is therefore even more important that the Get Online Week reaches its target groups and makes efforts to include those who are not yet benefitting from the information society.
