GOW17 in No 2 Paul Păltănea Library Branch, Romania

Let’s Go Online 2017 – Promoting ITC&C for the Employability of Young Persons - Filiala nr. 2 Paul Păltănea (No 2 Paul Păltănea Library Branch)

The national campaign for digital inclusion, implemented by the EOS Foundation Romania, has had an echo in the case of No 2 Paul Păltănea Library Branch, from Galați. This campaign was held in partnership with telecenters, libraries, schools, PAPI and other organizations.

On March 27th, 2017, as part of this campaign, the No 2 Paul Păltănea Library Branch organised an event on Promoting ICT for the Employability of Young Persons.

A group of high school students from Colegiul Tehnic de Alimentație și Turism ,,Dumitru Moțoc” (Dumitru Moțoc Technical and Food Industry College from Galați) were the main beneficiaries of this activity. They learned about the http://yourock.jobs/ro platform, where they could create their online resume.

First they registered on the platform by filling in their basic information. Then they created their CVs, following some specific steps, coordinated and supervised by librarians and a teacher. Then they uploaded these resumes on platform. This activity proved to be useful, but it also meant a challenge both for students, teachers and librarians. However, a proper resume will increase their chances of finding a good job.
