Today 16 of March 2016 Open the windows held a conference “ICT and employment: necessity and opportunities”, at hotel “Porta” in Skopje.
The first session was dedicated to ICT and modern labor market. Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mrs. Marta Arsovska Tomovska open the conference and shared information of the initiatives that are undertaken by Ministry and also invited civic organization to collaborate with the Ministry. The Director of Agency for Employment, Mr. Vlatko Popovski introduced the opportunities that are available for unemployed persons concerning digital skills as computer lessons for MS Office, Java, etc. The Executive director of Macedonian Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (MASIT) Mrs. Anita Nikova express their preparedness for cooperation between companies and unemployed persons with disabilities. At the end of first session Mrs Sophie Beaumont from The Delegation of European Union in Macedonia spoke about EU initiatives concerning ICT and digital inclusion.
Speakers in the second session spoke on the various opportunities that digital skills offer for persons with disabilities. In this session representatives from Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Dushan Tomsik; USAID project YES network, Mrs. Milica Trpevska; Association for students and youth with disabilities, Mrs.Daniela Stojanovska Dzingovska and Mr. Vladimir Lazovski, Executive director of Open the Windows gave their speeches.
Representatives from educational institutions, municipalities, civic organizations, media supported Get Online Week 2016 in Macedonia by signing the online survey.
