GOW 2016 in Cyprus: Introducing Coding to Students with Scratch

One of the most interactive and engaging activities organized during the Cyprus National GOW 2016 Campaign was the introduction of coding to students using the Scratch programming language. Workshops were formally organized in 8 schools in all major cities covering geographically the whole of Cyprus.

Following a brief introduction by the Scratch Expert Mrs. Matina Marathefti

students engaged in an interactive and engaging activity during which they had to develop a game that they subsequently debugged and executed.

Both boys and girls were involved in the activities with all enjoying the concept of collaborating towards a common goal.
