The Alliance of Access to Information and Training Community Centres participate actively at the Get Online Week 2013.
In partnership with Hilfswerk Austria International launched the digital map called DiasporaMD that has as a target group the migrants. The map is based on Ushahidi platform – an open source tool. The map contains the data and locations of embassies and consulates, mission and representative offices, diaspora organizations, shows opportunities for migrants to invest and receive funding. Also a short list of beneficiaries of investment grants dedicated to migrants is presented.
Almost 200 locations are specified. According to Victor Koroli – the executive director of Moldovan telecentre network the digital map is just a start. Any organization that works with migrants can search for partners and see where they are located.
The work with migrants become extremely necessary in last years. Almost one million people is working and living abroad. In the same time, the Diaspora communities consolidate the position in most European countries.
