The turnover conference and ceremonies for the Telecentre.org Foundation, from IDRC in Ottawa, Canada to the Manila, Philippines, was an important and prominent event for ICT for developing communities all over the world.
The striking of the gong announced the opening of a new chapter in the tale of the Telecentre.org Foundation.
Congratulations to the Government and people of the Philippines for this great achievement.
We, the members of the Telecentre.org community in the MENA region, truly appreciate the hospitality of the Government and the people of the Philippines, as well as their concern for the participants in this momentous event.
The presence and participation of high-level leaders in the global development community, such as Dr. Rohinton Medhora, Vice-President, Programs, International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Dr. Akhtar Badshah, Senior Director, Microsoft Global Community Affairs, Mr. Florencio Ceballos Program Manager, IDRC, Dr. Basheerhamad Shadrach, Executive Director, Telecentre.org Foundation, Mr.Richard Fuchs, Ray Anthony Rroxas-Chua III, Angelo Timoteo J.Angara from the Philippines, and others as well amongst the international participants, has renewed our hopes for the Telecentre.org Foundation. They stressed the importance of exerting more efforts, providing more support and continuing to work for the promotion of global development in order to reduce poverty, to root social and economic development all over the world and to help people as much as possible in achieving happiness.
It was of the utmost pleasure to meet these leaders and to benefit from their experience. Attending this conference has given us the privilege to continue working with the Telecentre.org Foundation in the service of our developing communities in the MENA region.
Last but not least, we wish to thank the Organizing Committee in the Philippines for their efforts to bring about this important event.
Once again, congratulations to the Philippines.
