More than 1600 ICT professionals to be trained in Latvia with support of the European Regional Development Fund

 

On  13th  of June LIKTA (Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association)  have signed agreement  (1.2.2.1/16/A/003) with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency of Latvia ( CFLA ) about implementing the project “ICT professional trainings for ICT industry development and innovations“ (IKT profesionāļu  apmācības inovāciju veicināšanai un nozares attīstībai, 1.2.2.1/16/A/003).

The project “ICT professional trainings for ICT industry development and innovations“ has started on 1 st of July and will go on by December 2018. The project will ensure high-level latest-ICT technology training for over 1600 ICT specialists employed in ICT and technology  industries in Latvia. Project is  supported (co-financed) by the European Regional Development Fund and are approved by the Latvian Government. The total amount of support is  899 585,70 EUR (30-70% intensity of co-financing depending on organization type). 

These courses will provide  Latvian ICT workforce with a training  that responds to the actual needs of industry, contributing to  reducing the ICT specialists gap in Latvia. The training modules  for ICT professional will follow the European E- Competence framework guidelines. 

The project is linked to the policies and strategy for digital and ICT specialist skills development  supported  by the Latvian National Coalition  for Digital skills.
