Greetings from Russia!

It is time to update our colleagues and friends worldwide about our changes. The IDEA project officially finished on January 31. Our partners were quite sad to say goodbye to it - we've grown to love it together with our 62 centers and numerous partners in 52 cities. During IDEA's almost 4 years over 21 thousand Russians were trained and received UP certificates, over 60 thousand benefitted from short-term workshops and seminars and over half a million - from open Internet access hours. But what is 21 thousand in the whole country, where only 36% are online?

The IDEA project had to develop and grow into smth bigger and .... here we are are on our new way together with Microsoft and our partners. We have set a very ambitious goal just in 2010 to train 90 000 people in basic computer skills, open 100 centers across the country with at least 1 center in each region. (Seriously, i am scared!) The name for our new project is even longer in Russian than it used to be "Your Course: Digital Literacy".

Microsoft Russia combined all their educational initiatives under one brand – “Tvoy Kurs” (Your Way/Course), from our Community Technology Skills Program to IT-Academies and CPLS (certification centers). The portal of the initiative is http://tvoy-kurs.ru (for those who know Russian). It is like a one-window service for all those who want to learn ICT skills and work with Microsoft products. We are doing the 1st, basic, stage of this learning trajectory.

It has been a very busy time for us - branding, adapting our project management system to the new needs, introducing the new course, recruiting and opening new centers, training new coordinators - nothing new, but ALL new. And the first all-project event turned out to be Get Online Day on March 4! So far we have 88 partner organizations and they keep adding. Wish us luck! :)

P.S. And how can i add pictures here?
