A total of 567.411 women have been trained through the Telecentre Women: Digital Literacy Campaign as of end of December 2012.
The milestone marks the halfway point for the campaign, which is organized by Telecentre.org Foundation and the International Telecommunication Union, and aims to provide 1 million women with digital literacy training.
A total of 146 organizations in 84 countries are currently signed up as partners of the campaign. Of the reported number of women trained, 34% comes from Eurasia, which registers the highest number of women trained, followed by Asia (31%), and Europe (26%).
The regions of Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, and Africa trail behind with 7%, 2% and 0.3% of the total respectively.
