Publicity of Get Online Week 2011 in Lithuania

Langas i ateiti has been a National coordinator of Get Online Week 2011 this year organised by Telecentre-Europe AISBL.

To get Lithuanians’ attraction to the importance of E-skills and Internet, we have developed Communication plan which was created in close collaboration with our GOW 2011 partners association INFOBALT and Microsoft Lietuva.

Since Lithuanian Premier Minister Andrius Kubilius is actively supporting IT industry in our country, we have asked him personally to call Lithuanians to participate in “GetOnlineWeek” actively. The video was placed on Youtube.  Link URL:

To inform Lithuanians about ‘GetOnlineWeek’ idea and call them to actions, we have agreed on TV interview on National TV channel. 8 minutes long interview that have taken place on February 28 during morning broadcasting ‘Good Morning’, was focused on two main topics: E-skills importance and ‘Get Online Week’ purposes.

To inform Lithuanians as better as possible on GOW, we have agreed on cooperation with two biggest Lithuanian news portals: and

They have placed ‘GetOnlineWeek 2011’ banners and have been acting as Information Partners during GOW.

Media conference dedicated to the importance of Eskills to Lithuania was arranged on March 1st just before roundtable discussion on the importance of e-skills started at Lithuanian Labor Exchange. Representatives from 5 ministries, state institutions and NGOs took part in the discussion.  Langas į ateitį had an excellent opportunity to introduce its newest MS UP project  "Strengthening IT Skills and Entrepreneurship with Online Assistance to Business Start Up".

And lots of other GOW 2011 activities brought us to a successful campaign.
