For the fifth time since Riga (2008), Istanbul (2009), Budapest (2010) and Brussels (2011), Telecentre-Europe AISBL is organizing its annual network gathering of European telecentre leaders during 17-18 October 2012 in Warsaw, Poland. The Summit (#TES12) will take place at the Mercure Warszawa Grand Hotel and will be co-hosted by our Polish member, the Information Society Development Foundation (FRSI).
Under the title Jobs for Youth and Ageing Online, the summit is focusing on on how telecentres impact youth and older people, by providing the right eSkills, by the use of social media and by encouraging social innovation, towards better jobs and an improved quality of life. Plenary sessions will deal issues like Jobs & Skills, Social Media and Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship. During the event, the Telecentre-Europe Award Ceremony will take place again.
Capacity building for libraries & telecentres is also on the agenda, and parallel sessions with groups discussions on the plenary themes and on Youth, Women & Ageing Online.
Besides the plenary & parallel sessions, the summit offers a project marketplace, thus giving the opportunity to its Member Organizations to showcase a selection of 10 of the best digital empowerment projects run at national or regional level.
Apart from the program, Telecentre-Europe's annual summit is above all a forum and networking opportunity to share project ideas, build future partnerships, and disseminate & highlight results of all participants' ongoing and/or completed projects.
