Senior citizens were in the focus in Röszke Telecentre (population: 3296 people). Local residents over the age of 50 were invited to the telecentre to take basic computer course. Nearly 20 people participated on the training learning about the most popular internet applications such as Skype, Facebook and Gmail.

But the Telecentre has greater ambitions: its goal is to better engage senior citizens in the life of the community, to active and mobilize them for achieving common community goals. So the computer training is just the first step of their journey. Participants expressed their interest in taking English language course as well as attending a community-based project planning workshop. The ultimate goal is to mobilize human resources for local NGOs and to increase international relations and learning opportunities through joining European networks and projects.
