September's Featured Community Members

During the month of September 2012, 39 community members participated at the Featured Member Contest and became featured for their activity.

The monthly contest highlights the site’s activity and rewards those members that keep the community alive with daily contributions: participating members get their avatar featured and stay highlighted at the homepage until another community member starts contributing and they get kicked offfrom Telecentre-Europe’s "Featured Five at Hall of Fame”

Every month, three of those featured members are awarded with a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as Top Members and WINNERS (*)of the Featured Members Contest.

Medal winners for the month of September:

Lukasz Nikitin Krakow, Poland
Published the blogpost Generation 50+. Convincing them to go digital. which accumulates more than 100 views, received 3 comments and was shared 3 times this month. Also, his blogpost Polish national Digital Literacy Programme accumulates more than 90 views, received 3 comments & was shared 1 time this month.

Karolina Jasvinaite Vilinius, Lithuania
Published the blogpost Kick-off meeting of new international "Use IT and enjoy" project which accumulates more than 50 views. Also, her blogpost "Langas į ateitį" started a new international project for seniors accumulates more than 100 views, received 2 comments & was shared 3 times this month.

Tine Munch Pedersen Copenhagen, Denmark
Published the blogposts Seniors laugh their way to digital skills (which accumulates more than 180 views), Learning about ICT in Denmark (which accumulates more than 60 views) and the event Danish Seniorsurf-day (which received 2 comments)

(*) The ranking is automatically calculated through ning's leaderboard algorithm, taking into account a combination of quantity and quality of the content which boils down to the questions: “How much is the member contributing?" and: "How valuable are his or her contributions?”. We don't know how the algorithm exactly works, but publishing blogposts & events, marking attendance, and getting comments, views & sharescertainly has a lot of weight in the calculation of the ranking.
