The outcomes of one of the activities of Safer Internet Day 2017 in Lithuania are still visible in schools – 100 decorated library doors are inviting to be safer online whole year round. It is the result of a competition for schools „Decorate the library door“, implemented together with Microsoft Lithuania: 100 school libraries participated in the competition, 4,000 pupils and other members of school community involved.
10 libraries were awarded with prizes; their pictures can be seen on Facebook album.

Kaunas “Ryto” Primary School
During Safer Internet Week the school library was full of educational safer internet activities. The end of every activity was he same – participating pupils left their names on library door with a promise to be more careful online. The blue little bears (that are the symbol of Lithuanian SIC) also contain advises prepared by pupils to their peers.
General Povilas Plechavičius Cadets Lyceum
The idea and the main object of the library door – the tree of safer internet, which also contained the “Surprise” envelope inviting all members of Lyceum community to participate in the game: to decode the SID2017 slogan written in Morse code, and to recognise the old proverbs “converted” to IT situations. The prises – internet safety flyers and candy, all prepared by Lyceum students.
Kaunas Rokai Gymnasium
The library door – a computer full of viruses. The goal was to provide main threats on the internet in an attractive manner, recognisable to all ages of pupils. The idea, the materials, the advises – all was done by 4th and 12th grade students working together, what also resulted in strengthen relationship among two very different age groups in the school.
Kaišiadoriai Algirdas Brazauskas Gymnasium
On the library door – the photos of every class of the gymnasium, where students pose together uniting for a better internet. But only one picture is in full colour, the one that was recognized to fulfil the meaning of SID2017 slogan best.
