Social software for inclusion of (marginalized) young people: be a part of it!

We would like to invite you to be a member of the Advisory Board of the INCLUSO project.

The INCLUSO project is a collaborative action between seven European partners, funded by the European Union in its 7th Framework programme of Research.

INCLUSO aims to deliver a verifiable proof that ICT, and more precisely, social software tools, can facilitate social inclusion of marginalized young people. INCLUSO will make suggestions for future research and development, based on desk research, expert input, pilot projects in 4 countries, the development of a measurement tool to screen evolution in social inclusion/exclusion and a business and sustainability model for organizations working with ICT in the area of social inclusion.

The pilot projects will be initiated within strong, existing organizations with little or no experience in the use of social software, but already working with marginalized youngsters and with a high potential to succeed in successful ICT implementation. 4 pilots will focus on complementary groups of youngsters.

More information about INCLUSO can be found on www.incluso.org.
The Advisory Board will reflect on project plans and achievements and give advice for further developments. The Advisory Board will “meet” 3 times during the project, the first time being February 17 at 18:00 (Brussels time)
Before the meeting we will send you all the necessary information.

The meeting will be organized through videoconference. It will take about 2 hours. We will be using Flashmeeting. This tool requires only a standard computer, internet browser, flash software (free), headset and webcam. The tool can be tested at the demo link on http://fm-openlearn.open.ac.uk/. Details of the meeting will be sent to you when you accept our invitation. There is a limited number of participants to the video conference. In case we would receive to many candidates for the Advisory Board, we will organise feedback in a different way. (more details later)

There is no financial remuneration for participation in this Board.

If you agree to participate, we would appreciate if you would add a comment to this blog with the following statement and send an email with the same statement to information@inclusion.org:
“I, the undersigned, accept to take part in the INCLUSO Advisory Board. I hereby undertake to observe the strictest confidentiality with regard to all facts, information, documents or any other matter communicated to me or which come to me during my preparation for and participation in the Board meetings of the INCLUSO project, which will take place between February 2009 and August 2010.”
After reception of your confirmation, we will send you the details of the first meeting that is planned 17 February 2009, 18:00 (Brussels time). The first version of the Whitebook will be sent to you one week before the meeting.

Dear Madam, Sir, please accept our greatest appreciation for your acceptance of this invitation.

For the Incluso team,

Jan Dekelver, project director
