In a brief segment at the Spark 13 conference (also known as the 4th Global Forum on Telecentres) in Granada, Spain, TCF’s Director of Operations Tess Camba and ChangeCorp CEO and Managing Partner Louise Guido announced the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TCF, an international nonprofit organization operating as the global telecentre network, and ChangeCorp, a social enterprise aimed at promoting mobile learning programs for underserved communities around the world. The MOU provides a framework for cooperation that includes, among others, the distribution of ChangeCorp’s SmartWoman mobile service to support women’s empowerment in TCF communities and the distribution of mobile learning solutions for TCF community member in content topics, such as financial literacy, health, business, and vocational skills training.
During the announcement, Tess Camba cited the value of the partnership, saying “ChangeCorp’s capacity to provide education using mobile technology for sustainability and scalability is highly impressive and we look forward to working with them to support telecentre women worldwide.” Louise Guido responded, “We are so very honored to be working with Telecentre on this most innovative mobile program, SmartWoman. Helping women find skills and access for their personal and professional development is essential to the goals of our partnership.”
The MOU between the two organizations is expected to take effect immediately.
