Next Wednesday (24 December 2010), Telecentre.org Foundation celebrates its first Foundation Day. There are 500 Telecentre organizations, 200,000 community Telecentres and about half-a-million grassroots level knowledge workers placed in some 40 nations around the world will celebrate this day. This celebration will also coincide with the soft launch of the Foundation’s first Campaign called “Telecentre Women: Digital Literacy Campaign”. Telecentre.org Foundation scheduled to train 1.000.000 (one million) women by the year 2011. The Campaign will start in the Philippine with the 6th Knowledge Exchange Conference on Community eCenters (KEC on CeCs), the biggest and most awaited CeC-related event of the year. The theme of the conference "Innovate for Strength and Sustainability". The 6th KEC, will be held on November 24-25, 2010 at the Cebu Parklane International Hotel in Cebu City. The 6th KEC is organized by the Philippine Community eCenter Network jointly with CICT, the telecentre.org Foundation, and the telecentre. org – Phillippine Community eCenter Academy (tPCA). At the opening ceremonies telecentre.org Foundation will launch the Telecentre Women Campaign and make a presentation. In Sudan gedaref digital city organization (GDCO) represented by Sudan national Telecentre academy (SuNTA) in partnership with Zainab organization(women
organization), Ithar organization (women organization) and Nour Alhuda organization (intellectual disability organization) will launch the Women Campaign in 6 Telecentres in gedaref . these organization are targeting 10.000 women by 2011. Mr. Sulah Nudula the executive director of Ugabytes.org mentioned on his phone call to me they will join the campaign. In addition, Alsalamiya Telecentres (eng. Nabil Eid the father of disability in the Arab world) in Syria will join the campaign.
