Telecentre.orgfoundation (GTA) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)announced the launch of Telecentre management certificate program. This is thefirst certificate announce in partnership between telecentre.org foundation andIndira Gandhi national open university(IGNOU). This certificate is a global certificate for the global Telecentreacademy targeting all Telecentres mangers and operators in different parts ofthe world through the national Telecentre academies and its partners, the openuniversity, with different languages. It is multidisciplinary subject whichdraws its knowledge base from sociology, rural development, informationtechnology governance and management. For the Learners to get this certificatethey required to obtain 16 credits in 4courses in 6 months (minimum) and 2 years maximum. The courses are1- Telecentre and community informatics 2-planning and management of Telecentres. 3- content and services in Telecentres.4- promoting Telecentres. Each learner can upgrade his education certificate todiploma if he get more 8 credits in addition to the compulsory certificatecourse (16 credit) and get a one week field study report on a given topic. For these8 credits he can select any 5 modules of the six available. This course will start with 500, 000 Telecentremanagers or workers in India and the dead line for application is the 15thFebruary 2011.
