On 14–15 of November Telecentre-Europe members participated in the Lithuanian Presedancy e-Government conference in Vilnius. The particular workshop to share TE experience was moderated by „Langas i ateiti“ director Loreta Krizinauskiene and organized with 4 more TE members.
The purpose of the conference Where are we, where we are going was to evaluate the current European Union (EU) policy and its implementation measures in the e-Government area and to formulate the roadmap for organization of the sustainable development of e-Government process within the financial framework for 2014-2020. The conference brought together approximately 400 delegates from around the world, representing national, regional and local administrations, the European Commission, international and regional organisations, industry, civil society, science, eGovernment experts and practitioners.
The Telecentre-Europe workshop titled Inclusive e-Government presented the results of the MIREA survey by Senior Scientist of EC-IPTS Gianluca Misuraca, good practices by Telecentre Europe, Latvia and Ireland.
TE managing director's Gabriel Rissola presentation was based on a recently released research study aimed to developing a map of eInclusion intermediary actors in Europe.
Manus Hanratty, non executive director of FIT, talked about the role of the telecentres in the current and future economical environment. How important is to encourage social enterpreneuship to telecentres.
Mara Jakobsone, the Chair of TE introduced Latvian national partnership contributing to development of ICT skills for Inclusive government and economic growth. All the workshop participants discussed opportunities and challenges to increase the cooperation between public and third sector to increase the penetration of e-government services.
