Towards Information Security of Lithuanian Citizens

Last week “Langas į ateitį“ accomplished the implementation of the project Towards Information Security of Lithuanian Citizens. 3 months long project was supported by the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania. The goal of the project was to raise awareness about the information threats, encourage critical thinking and responsible behavior online, increase the population's immunity to information threats.

Project activities were not very numerous in such a short time but attracted quite a big number of people:  over 9000  visitors of the public libraries internet access points joined the webinars with well known lecturers. They found out about the term „propaganda“, its meaning, ways to recognize it and ability to resist it.  Additionally, over 45 thousand leaflets were spreadout in all public libraries to be delivered to visitors and an open seminar to public libraries staff was organized. Over 93% of participants evaluated the topic as up to date important and relevant.
