Youth developing digital solutions for NGO in Latvia

From 8 till12 of August LIKTA is hosting a Youth Hackaton in Riga were young people from Cyprus, Croatia, Lithuania and Latvia demonstrate their coding skills that have been learnt within the project Generation0101 (http://www.generation0101.eu/en).  

During the spring semester young people in 5 countries and many regional schools and digital centres were involved in non-classroom activities  learning such digital and coding  skills as web development, multimedia content production, game development, web radio, e-journalism and online collaboration.

Now they come together for voluntary work to develop digital solutions for 2 regional NGOs in Latvia:

  • Interactive map of youth opportunities for Ventspils youth council
  • Webpage update and online collaboration platform creation for a Women’s NGO in Jelgava

Hackaton participants will also be invited to visit Riga IT demo Center and New National Library building in Riga.
